# Overview

$PEARL is the Polygon token native to the Ocean Racing League universe.

Aside from being one currency used to reward wins and stake racers in the Ocean Racing League, $PEARL also allows you to assign boosted roles to your racers and participate in community events such as raffles for custom racers!

There are many other exciting updates on the way which will also require $PEARL, such as racer lending and mystery boosts.
