Roles offer the chance to buff (add extra speed to a racer as shown in the 'Roles (Buffs)' Visual below). Or to debuff (take away speed as shown in the Roles - (Debuffs) visual below) Your captain will represent your team in playoffs and finals by default, so don't forget to register a good one for free!

Multiple roles can not be stacked on the same racer but the buff a role offers will stack on top of coach buffs and other performance factors.
